Middle School Reader (Tween Years)
Before the Book List (A quick note from Mama Bird)
Big Brother loves to read and can almost always be found with a book in hand. It doesn’t matter if it’s a physical book, his Kindle, or a manga—if there’s a spare moment, he’s reading.
I do try to stay on top of what he’s reading and preview/review series when I can, but he reads faster than I can keep up. Everything on this list is something he has already read and enjoyed. The only two I was able to follow closely were Solo Leveling and The Beginning After the End—and with Beginning After the End, we paused the series once it moved into more mature territory around one topic.
Spring break added a few new favorites to the list — including a last-minute Kindle purchase that turned out to be a great call — and he also managed to blow through several volumes in ongoing series while we were traveling. At this point I’ve stopped being surprised. 😄
Below are some of his favorite book series from his middle school years (or, as I like to call them, the tween years). Every recommendation listed here is a series he has actually read and enjoyed—no half-finished books, no forced picks. Whether your tween is new to the genre or already a light novel fanatic, this list of light novel recommendations for tween boys is a great place to start.
Big Brother's Top 3 Light Novel Recommendations for Tween Boys
These three are his current favorites from this list. I’ll add quick links to each one right below.
